My story

“Some of you have been persistently asking me what’s the story.”

Being a curious cat myself, I won’t keep you in suspense any longer. So I’m sharing the story, on one condition. You have to tell me what you think, be honest okay! Here goes

It was the year 1990 when Nelson Mandela was released and you could smell freedom, it was an arm’s length away.

A blissful evening of Autumn when a beautiful baby girl was born with locks of curly light brown hair, round, fat, flat feet and the most precious tiny cry. Little was known that this would be the person who would change the way people saw food.

As she grew, she loved spending time in the kitchen, licking the mixer’s tongs and getting her hands dirty. Also making sand cakes in the garden.

Helping mom and gran in the kitchen is what she lived for, either cracking eggs, while messing most of them or sifting flour. Before mom knew it, she could bake and frost the cake by herself, leaving the kitchen in the biggest mess.

Soon after, family members were asking her to bake and were also willing to pay.

At that age she knew that she wanted to create the experience with food only her mum and grandmother could.

Years passed, she graduated, being the youngest in her class, and also Vice president of the student Alumni. It was now time to set into the real world of food. With work hours starting as early as 4am, and some shifts ending at 2.30am. Missing family occasions , being burnt by chefs, or almost losing the tip of her finger and having it stitched back through her nail, none of these were going to stop her from achieving her dreams.

Wanting to understand more than just what taste good together, she went on a journey with food as her companion. Asking apples :”what do you do to me when I eat you?.” What then when you are cooked? .

Curiosity, building the more she found, traveling and working in different types of kitchens, international chain five star hotels, elite catering companies, even an outdoor kitchen surrounded by wild life and buffaloes coming into the kitchen. From all these experiences she had learned, not having known then, that it would pave a future for her at the end of the day.

Today she lives her dream creating mouthful master pieces for all milestone occasions, like catering for a couple getting engaged on the beach or feeding your guests on your wedding day or simply just spoiling your loved ones with an intimate dinner on an anniversary.

She cooks with a mothers love to provide you food that feeds your soul!
